Interior Installation

When optical fiber cables and MicroCables routed through HDPE pathways – allowing for moves, adds, and changes (MACs) – in living spaces, then the duct or MicroDuct will need to meet certain Plenum/Riser flammability requirements, as well for use, in these occupied environments.

Applications
RISER/PLENUM ENCLOSURE TERMINATION

Use metal or plastic enclosures – also known as a tube distribution unit (TDU) – to protect the connected individual ducts. The enclosures need to be of an adequate size to allow bending/looping of the MicroDucts within the minimum bend radius limits. Use of the proper termination connectors for jacketed bundled MicroDucts is required to avoid damage to the MicroDucts. The push-fit connectors used to join them should be clear in nature and staggered, if possible, on the straight sections of the MicroDuct.

ORGANIZING RISER/PLENUM INTERIOR PATHWAYS

When the FuturePath jacket is removed for ease of routing the separate MicroDucts horizontally and vertically on interior walls, organizer brackets should be used to route the MicroDucts in a neat and orderly fashion. To be able make the first row of up to eight MicroDucts, be sure to install an additional bracket along with the base plate that includes one bracket. Additional brackets can then be installed for additional rows as required.
