Mexichem Announces a New Regional President within its Fluent Business Group

On Monday, April 2, Mexichem, S.A.B de C.V. announced Richard “Rick” Jacobs as the new Regional President of the Fluent Business Group for the U.S. and Canada.

Based in Knoxville, the Fluent Business Group had sales over $3 billion in 2017 representing close to 50% of Mexichem’s consolidated revenues and is one of the largest producers of plastic pipes and connections worldwide.

Mexichem’s Fluent Business Group President Paresh Chari said, “We are excited to have Rick on board. His expertise in driving growth while expanding into new markets will be a huge asset to the company.”

As part of Jacobs’s responsibilities, he will direct the 50-year old Dura-Line brand, whose offices are located in Turkey Creek. Dura-Line has been based in Knoxville for nearly 30 years.

“The company’s purpose-driven values, goals of social responsibility, and operational excellence really appealed to me,” Jacobs said. “As a new resident of Knoxville, I’m looking forward to getting involved in the local community.”

Jacobs is a seasoned executive with a broad experience in various facets of the business including sales, supply chain, and operations. He has worked both in the U.S. and overseas throughout his career, most recently as the President of Hydraulics, EMEA for Eaton. During his 14-year career at Eaton, Jacobs held various roles including Chief Procurement Officer and President of the Filtration Division. Prior to Eaton, Jacobs held a variety of leadership roles in companies such as Knorr-Bremse/Honeywell and General Electric.

Jacobs holds a B.A. in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and a M.A. in Industrial Management from Clarkson University in New York. He completed the Harvard Business Marketing Strategy Program, the Columbia General Management Program, and Lean Management at the University of Tennessee.
